Take a content-rich field trip to the Palos Verdes Peninsula for personally guided tours with South Coast Botanic Garden’s leadership team. Guests will divide into subject-specific groups to enjoy a brisk Garden walk with in-depth conversations about how the Garden has been refining its plantings, operations, development, and educational programs to provide excellent experiences for all visitors.
The Garden was built in 1951 atop an open pit mine and subsequent garbage landfill. The site is an outstanding example of land reuse and revitalization and a unique horticultural experience. The 87-acre property, located in beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, provides scenic vistas, ample hiking opportunities amid a lush tree canopy, and exceptional collections, including a Banyan Grove, the Desert Garden, and a shaded Fuchsia Garden. Following section tours, guests will gather together for wine tasting in the new Rose Garden with a discussion on design and visioning with Garden designers Deneen Powell Atelier and the Garden’s CEO.
