Almost all gardens track their plant collections. Some gardens use sophisticated tools with limited website integration, while others have their plant collections in an offline database or Excel. However, for the most part, marketing and membership teams have not utilized plant collections - but this is changing.
Plant collection databases don’t have to just be for the garden plant collection manager or researchers. If made available to the public through beautiful and user friendly interfaces on the Web, they can be a fantastic tool for engaging the general public, including master gardeners and hobbyist.
In this workshop we’ll have a lively and interactive discussion using real world examples to help you understand how to leverage your plant collections as a powerful marketing and engagement tool through your website, social media, mapping, and even related third party applications.
