There are many currents of thought and research that are converging on looking at ways botanical gardens could evolve to address various environmental, social, financial, and infrastructure issues that communities face. How might we rethink what a botanical garden is to think differently about how to create new ones, redesign existing ones, and grow more public gardens that can help mitigate environmental and social issues. This presentation will 'curate' the most interesting and innovative 'bigger picture' trends in thinking, landscape design, and green infrastructure breakthroughs as well as societal trends that offer fascinating and exciting ways to rethink how we could create new botanical gardens.

This session is approved for 1 LACES credit hour.
