Food Evolution is a documentary about the public debate on agricultural GMOs, directed by Academy Award nominated Scott Hamilton Kennedy and narrated by Neil de Grasse Tyson. The film chronicles how fear and misinformation can overwhelm objective, evidence-based science. It has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The New York Times review stated, “Food Evolution posits an inconvenient truth: In a world desperate for safe and sustainable food, G.M.O.s may well be a force for good.”

In the contemporary world of alternative facts, and post-truth, where the general public is deeply concerned about food, Food Evolution presents an important view into the forces shaping public debates about plant science and technology.

Special guest, Dr. Allison Van Eenennaam, who was one of the main subjects of Food Evolution will present at this session.
